Circular Srl Among the Organising Partners of ROADLCA 2026 in Palermo
Circular Srl contributed to the organisation of ROADLCA 2026, the 7th International Symposium on Pavement and Bridge Life Cycle Assessment, held in Palermo from 30 September to 2 October 2026. The company participated as an organising partner, with Eng. Antonio Covais serving on the International Organising Committee.
On 1 October, Prof. Marzia Traverso, Scientific Advisor to Circular Srl and Director of the Institute of Sustainability in Civil Engineering (INaB) at RWTH Aachen University, delivered a presentation.
Her talk highlighted the importance of assessing infrastructure sustainability from a life cycle perspective, addressing challenges related to ageing roads and bridges, increasing maintenance needs, and climate change.
The presentation explored the role of Life Cycle Thinking, Italy's Minimum Environmental Criteria (CAM), the European Level(s) framework, and sustainability assessment approaches adopted in Germany.
Particular attention was given to Life Cycle Sustainability Assessment (LCSA), which integrates environmental, social, and economic dimensions to support more informed, science-based decision-making.
Circular Srl's participation in ROADLCA 2026 reinforces its commitment to promoting science-based sustainability assessment methodologies, fostering collaboration between research institutions, businesses, and public authorities to support more sustainable and resilient infrastructure.
