Decibel S.r.l.: Measuring the Carbon Footprint for Responsible Emissions Management
Circular S.r.l. supported Decibel S.r.l. in assessing its organisational Carbon Footprint, developing a greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions inventory in accordance with the international standard ISO 14064-1:2018.
The assessment provides a framework for understanding the climate impact of business activities and supporting the development of emission reduction strategies.
Who is Decibel?
Decibel S.r.l. operates in the technical event services sector, providing audio and video equipment, rental services, temporary installations and operational and logistical support for events.
The company's activities involve energy consumption, company vehicles, equipment transportation and the purchasing of goods and services, all of which contribute directly or indirectly to its organisational Carbon Footprint.
The Collaboration with Circular
Circular supported Decibel in conducting an organisational Carbon Footprint assessment in accordance with ISO 14064-1:2018, applying the GHG Protocol methodology to classify greenhouse gas emissions.
The consultancy activities included:
- Definition of organisational and operational boundaries.
- Collection and analysis of data related to energy consumption, transportation, logistics, purchases and waste management.
- Development of a GHG emissions inventory covering direct and indirect emissions across Scope 1, Scope 2 and Scope 3.
- Environmental modelling using SimaPro software and the ecoinvent database.
- Analysis of the main emission sources and identification of improvement opportunities.
Greenhouse gas emissions were quantified using the IPCC methodology based on the 100-year Global Warming Potential (GWP100), expressing climate impacts in CO₂ equivalents.
