Circular srl collaborated with the Department of Environment, Land and Infrastructure Engineering of the Polytechnic University of Turin on the European project Mine.io, aimed at optimizing, digitalizing, and making mining activities more sustainable. The objective of the project is to support the green and digital transition in the extractive sector through:
- Industry 4.0 technologies (drones, digital twins, monitoring systems);
- Reduction of environmental impact;
- Increased efficiency in resource management;
- Improved social acceptance of mining activities.
Circular srl’s contribution to the project, in collaboration with the Politecnico di Torino, focused on the comparative assessment of impacts before and after the introduction of digital technologies such as sensors, drones, and AI; the use of the S-LCA methodology to support technical and strategic decisions at pilot sites; and contributions to the project’s databases and decision-making frameworks, integrating scientific results with practical field applications.
