On June 11–12, 2025, Circular took part in the 5th General Assembly of the European Mine.io project in Oulu, Finland, in collaboration with the Polytechnic University of Turin.

During the first day, project partners visited the Pyhäsalmi mining site, one of the key pilot sites of Mine.io. On this occasion, ongoing activities and their progress were presented, with a focus on the technologies being applied and the site’s potential for testing advanced digital solutions in the mining sector.

The second day was dedicated to presenting the progress of the various Work Packages (WP). Circular, responsible for the project’s social sustainability component, showcased the results achieved so far in the Social Life Cycle Assessment (S-LCA) of the Mine.io technologies and pilot sites. In particular, the team presented their work on:

  • stakeholder selection and analysis,
  • identification of relevant social impacts,
  • development of indicators and data collection tools.

The event concluded with a visit to the mining school of the University of Oulu, where extracted materials are analyzed and studied, highlighting the integration between academic research, innovation, and industrial application.

With this, Circular continues to advance its commitment to promoting a sustainable and responsible transition in the mining sector, integrating technology with a strong focus on social impact throughout the entire resource life cycle.
